I am a grade 2 diabetic can I eat anything like doughtnuts as I love them?
Question:
Answers:
A lot depends on the type of donuts you like and how much sugar they contain. You need to look at the carb count on the box or find a similar donut that has the information listed. Then you can substitute a donut now and again for other carbs you might normally eat such as bread or pasta. You still need some carbs each day, but you need to control the rate in which you eat them as much as the quantity you eat. So don't have 4 donuts at one time; have one at breakfast instead of toast and one in the afternoon instead of the candy bar.
you can just eat one
I was diagnosed with diabetes in the 8th grade and I am insulin dependent. I can eat anything I want as long as I count the carbohydrates and take the insulin to match it
you can eat that donut, but you need to account for the carbs and sugar by subtracting them from somewhere else in your daily diet. The only reason it isn't a good idea to do this, is because donuts are nutritionally nil, you deprive yourself of the nutrition you need when you eat empty calories.
A grade 2 diabetic? Does have have to do with how long you have had the disease? If that's the case, I'm a PhD diabetic.
