Sugar Levels...Vegen remedies...?


Question:
I recently became 95% vegetarian. My mom has a standard US diet. She often gets these crashes mainly due to high blood sugar. Also, her heart is not good at all. Her simple solution is to eat a lot of meat...STEAK or other RED meat and take a few Aspirins.

Can someone please explain sugar levels to me and vegen ways to help. I do not believe that meat helps at all

She's likely to go the same way my mom did. I'm on a primarily vegetarian diet and it helps in many ways. On the following webpage is a link to a Dr. McDougall's (MD) website. He talks about curing all sorts of ailments with a vegan diet. I like a little meat, so I supplement my veggies with a little poultry or fish. You don't need nearly as much protein as you think, though. Besides, for all you meat lovers, where do you think the beef get their nutrients? There you go, plants. If a person does their homework, they can get all the nutrients they need from vegetables. There are plenty of unadvertised benefits to getting most of your nutrients from vegetables like, no more acid reflux, more consistent stools, smoother skin, stronger immune system, and (almost forgot) MUCH easier to manage blood sugar. The logic your Mom is misusing is that meat [ protein and fat ] do not raise blood sugar.Carbs do.If she doesn't take in any carbs, she feels her sugar will be lower and her heart healthy.

She is really in a mess. She needs to see an endocrinologist and a dietitian asap.

The hi protein and asprin doses can hurt her more than help her.
You can help her make these appointments and subscribe to diabetes magizens for her.

for starters an asprin aday is good for the heart [ 80] mg. fish oil tablets are great for the heart, i take four a day,[omacar] is the name of them. im a diabetic, 90/120 is normal for blood sugar. you cant eat anything with starch in it [potatoes,rice,pasta] for a few, no sugar, [splenda] is okay.you can have 1 apple a day because more than 1 turns to sugar.
