LEVOTHYROXINE - has this diabetic medication been recalled or discontinued?
Question:
Answers:
It hasn't been discontinued, but it's NOT a medication for diabetes. It's used to treat hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine is the generic name. Some of the generic manufacturers aren't making it any longer, but plenty of others are. Brand names include Levothroid, Levoxyl, Synthroid, Unithroid.
Hope this helps!
No and this is a hypothyroid medication.
I hope you are not taking this for you diabetes, you could end up fatally.
LEVOTHYROXINE is altogether different animal
It is still on the market, but it is not a diabetic medication, it is a thyroid medication.
This is not a medication for Diabetes but, was prescribed for Thyroid conditions. Levothyroxine itself is not longer manufactured and has been replaced with other Thyroid medications that are just as good. I can't remember the exact reason as to why. I hope that this has helped.
No, it has not been discontinued...as far as it being recalled, it's possible that certain lot numbers have, but not for any serious reasons (maybe for an inactive ingredient that has expired). Levothyroxine is not used to treat diabetes. It is used to treat thyroid conditions. You need to talk to your doctor if you think you are being prescribed levothyroxine for your diabetes. Maybe you have a thyroid condition and aren't aware of it while your doctor is treating you for it.
No thats a thyroid med, I take it myself for underactive thyroid, and as far as I know it has not been recalled. And yes its still on the market as I take it.
