Good foods to manage pre-diabetes.?


Question:
My father has "slight diabetes," and his doctors say that if he takes care of it now by excercising and eating healthy, it can be taken care of. What are some good foods/drinks he can have to help take care and kill off this disease/situation?

if its in the early stages try to do a lot of exersice and eat less meat , more fruits and vegetable
avoid starch foods
walk is the best
dont rush to take medication
take medication only if its uncontrollable
once u start insulin you cant stop
Nothing ts going to "kill off" the diabetes. You either have it, or you don't. Once you have it, that's it. Yes, it can be managed with diet and exercise. A primarily vegetable diet with whole grains and some high quality protein foods like chicken and fish would be a good rule of thumb. Avoid junk food and treats. Lots of exercise. No specific food can cure diabetes. Eating 5-6 smallish, well-balanced in protien, carbohydrates and fiber, plus a daily exercise routine can help a lot. He should also be testing his own blood sugar to monitor how he's doing.
