Poison Ivy.. My dog must have gotten it on him.. i rubbed him and voila...?

Question:
it's in little spots ALL over the place, including face.
Anything better or FASTER than calamine lotion?
Also, the dog... do you think regular soap will get the poison ivy oil off his fur?

Answers:
Poison Ivy is in the powder on the plant. Yes, washing your dog will help, but wear rubber gloves of course. He may have caught it too so check him for itching etc. Calamine is good - if it is more severe you can make a paste of oatmeat and then use gauze to keep it on. Above all do not scratch as that is what spreads it.
