Whats the best treatment or cure for hormonal acne?

Question:
Any skincare products/treatments, homeopathic or conventional medicine, that you know have really worked..i'm based in the UK. Thank you!

Answers:
a broad spectrum antibiotic such as oxytetracycline (500 mg twice daily) or doxycycline (100mg once daily) sould be sufficient enough, long term therapy maybe required. benefits are optimum after 4-6 weeks.

for me face wash didn't work and peroxide makes your skin look like sh1t.
Whenever I get acne, I always put a dab of white toothpaste on the pimple or pimples. It really does work. but don't use gel toothpaste. I use Pepsodent, but I don't know if they have that in U.K.
The management depends on the severity of the condition. Mild disease may respond to simple cleanser/degreaser preparations. These are mostly based on peroxide and many are available over the counter. The next step would tend to be an antibiotic, topical if the acne is very localised, and oral if it is more general and involves the back and shoulders. This is usually combined with a cleanser and needs to be used for many months or sometimes as much as a few years. The choice of antibiotics used orally is quite limited, now usually lymecycline, minocycline or erythromycin.

The final choice is Roaccutane, this is only prescribed by specialist hospital dermatologists due to its side effect profile. Occasionally UV light treatment is also given.
The trick is to fight acne both from inside and outside. There are some systems that use herbal pills to fight hormonal acne.

I also stumbled upon a source that lists the most effective acne treatments available...
if you find it, please let me know, I've had severe acne for over 12 years since the age of eleven, and despite all the medications and creams, I still have it, now 24 years old its got me very down, it was decided that I couldn't take Roaccutane, as I'm already depressed and taking it would only probably make me jump off a cliff or similar, I've heard that laser treatment can be effective (N-lite) however its very expensive, not yet available on the NHS, and if you don't treat the cause of the acne inside, the spots are likely to return. I'm now trying herbal remedies, which don't have nasty side effects to your body and have been told that zinc is very good for anyone with acne, about 50mg a day, I've also been trying Dandelion organic herbal tea, however be warned, it tastes gross, but its worth a try, go to your nearest herbal shop or similar, ask the person behind the counter, I did, explain your problem and they may well be able to give you advice on what to take, also Tea tree soap which is antibacterial is good for washing an acne prone face, good luck.
