Is it bad to take more than 2 puffs of Albuterol during an asthma attack?

Question:
Just had a bad attack, took 2 puffs, few minutes went by and it didn't get better, so I took 2 more. Then a few minutes later I took one more. Total of 5 puffs. Then it started to calm down.

Is it bad that I took that many puffs?

Answers:
It's not great, but it won't do any damage. I've certainly been there. It makes you shakey to take too much. You may want to talk to your doctor about changing, or adding medicines to control you asthma. Advair and singular, if you're not already taking them are great drugs for controlling asthma.
tell your Dr you had to do this =you might need a stronger dosage of Albuterol
Respectfully, NEVER treat yourself. Check with your doc when things are bad. Tell them, if the doc has the answering service on, that it is an extreme emergency that you talk to them. If your breathing isn't extremely encumbered, you MAY avoid a trip to the ER. If your judgement says, (YOU know how you feel more than anyone), that you need help and you've waited at least 15-20 minutes for a return call go to the ER. Explanations to "dear 'ole doc" can come later.
Yes it's very bad you can have a seizure from too much of the inhaler; go to the ER if it doesn't get better sounds like you need prednisone or some form of steroid to control the wheezing. I know I have it as well. It is a pain in the butt disease.
