If I were you, I would do as this writer has done and get on a real serious health kick complete with a few supplements. A couple that come to mind are Pycnogenol and Ginkgo Biloba. Both seem to help with circulation, and hence, neurological issues. Also, as the others mention, make sure you are keeping that blood sugar as normalized as possible. FYI I can't get double vision because I've always had a lazy eye. During childhood, I learned to overcome the double vision by seeing out of just one eye at a time (basically ignoring the other, undesired, image). Hence, no depth perception and I was labeled uncoordinated due to my inability to catch a ball in flight and other vision related issues.
How are your blood sugars now? I am a diabetic, and when my sugar gets high, I see double. My doctor tells me it is focal neuropathy, and the only thing I can do about it is to try to keep mt blood sugar down! I hope he is wrong!
I really suggest that you you find a specialist for the blurry vision and if it continues to get worst then I really think that you are having serious eye problems and if you wait any longer i really and truly believe that it will get much worst before it will get better.
if you had neuropathy your eye doctor would be able to see it. try taking some extra vitamin a, it might help a little bit and keep control of your blood sugar. high blood sugar from a long time ago can still affect your vision. take vitamin a, hope it goes away, and if it doesn't get a hold of another doctor to take another look.
I unfortunately was in the hospital almost 2 years ago, I was in a DKA(diabetic ketoacidosis) state. I spent 10 days in the hospital , Im fine now but for almost a month after being released I had very very blurry horrible vision, saw the eye doctor and he said there was nothing wrong with my eyes, a month is a long time to me to be seeing double and blurry so I was scared. I did nothing just waited it out and eventually my sight went back to normal on its own. Its been longer for you tho, have you talked to ur doctor about anything you can take as far as vitamins go, mayve thats your best bet.
if u are diabetic u are at a hirgher risk of developing blurred vision or being blind.. sorry thats all i know and hope it helps
. THEY CAN SEE THE WHOLE OPTIC NERVE. AND I HOPE THE TESTED YOU FOR A DETACHED RETINA. AS LONG YOUR SUGAR IS NOT NORMAL OR NEAR NORMAL YOU WILL HAVE DOUBLE VISION. OR FOCAL NEUROPATHY. MAKE SURE THE EYE DOCTORS TEST THE LENSES TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE CORRECT, SOMETIMES THEY MAKE MISTAKES. IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE A SEVERE DIABETIC, SO THIS MAKES ME THINK IT IS MORE YOUR SUGAR BLOOD LEVEL THEN ANYTHING. MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW YOUR DIET AND GET EXERCISE. KEEP THAT SUGAR LEVEL AS CLOSE TO NORMAL AS YOU CAN. IF IT DOESN'T GET BETTER GO BACK TO YOUR MEDICAL DOCTOR, AND HAVE ANOTHER FULL BLOOD WORK DONE.
hi im michele a nurse with the yahoo webgroup sphincterofoddi_pancreatitis. i invite u to join us and get some help from our group. in the meantime, dont give up with your issue of double vision. sometimes subtle eye changes are not seen by a local md.can u go to aq specialty hospital?for instance, in nyc there is a eye institute associated with columbia univeristy. sometimes, diabetes and pancreatits can be from autoimmune troubles like lupus (which i have and chronic pancreatitis). it could also be multiple sclerosis as somew people tend to have overlapping autoimmune diseases. a dietician can help you but certainly vit b12 tends to be low in pancreatitis and thus affects nerves causing neuropathy. so please have an md draw blood for vit b12, vit d, beta carotene, thyroid hormones, and an ana (antinuclear antigen-for lupus etc).goodluck;)michele please feel free to write me offline too
