Insulin pump info?

Question:
is there a website that has information about which insurance companies will pay for certain insulin pumps? i think finding companies online would be much faster than calling the insurance company to see if they do accept them.

Answers:
You would need to contact your current insurance provider to see if they will cover one (assuming you have coverage). Most companies will cover pumps these days. It's a lot easier to get approved now than it was 10 years ago.

You might get a quicker response by calling instead of emailing. You will have to provide a lot of information and you have to have a prescription from your doctor to get one. You also have to have a prescription for the needed supplies.

Good luck. I love mine. It is so much better than taking multiple daily injections. I love the convenience and the freedom wearing a pump allows. I really can't think of anything I don't like about my pump.

EMT
most insurance companies cover medtronic minimed and disetronic. i've got capital blue cross and they cover both of those.
i think you have to call the company though for the most part.
Go to an endocrinologist who can prescribe a pump for you and let the pump company haggle with the insurance company
