Trying to get rid of toenail fungus is very difficult because the nail is hard to penetrate. There is a prescription medication called Lamisil and it is very expensive, hard on your liver and you have to take it for months to get any effect. If it isn't too bad, meaning not the whole nail, or a smaller toenail then the topical version of Lamisil might work for you. I believe you use that one for 3 months.
I just read on a "self help" that you can soak your nails in Listerine for 20 minutes a day and it will kill the bacteria. Not sure if it works, but it is a cheap solution to try.
