Bad Poison Ivy, I Need Help!!!?

Question:
I have very bad poison ivy on the top of my foot and on my ankle. I have had it for about 5 days and it has become very painful. It will not stop oozing and my skin has become purple around it. My foot has also swollen. It is becoming difficult to walk due to the position of the rash. I would appreciate it if some one could let me know of an at home method of riding it.

Answers:
I get rashes from poison ivy like crazy, so I have experience with what you're talking about. The best otc treatment I've found is Tecnu. The best home remedy I've found is running it under hot water for a while. Put your foot under the faucet and gradually increase the temperature. Don't burn yourself, but get it as hot as you can stand. After a little while under the water you will start to feel like your scratching it. Keep it under the water until that scratching feeling starts to subside. You'll have itch relief for hours and it will heal faster.

Good luck!
well why don't you go see a doctor and he'll prescribe you something. if you dont want to go you could always go to the store and buy some itching relief lotion so it could stop itching if it is? you could put some ice or a wet towel for it to stop swelling and oozing. i guess thats all i can think of.

best of luck ♥

just had a coworker dealing with a bad case...

go to your dr, they'll probably give you prednisone to help get rid of it... wrap it loosely, change the dressing regularly, calamine can help with the itch, and personally, i've used a soap called fels-naptha (it's a laundry bar soap) and it will dry the rash out and help get rid of it... but with how bad it sounds, see your Dr.
This remedy worked for me some 60 years ago and requires two over the counter products that may be hard to find today. step(1) swab the affected area with Mecurochrome. step (2) while still wet, sprinkle BFI Powder on, it will stick to the wet area.
If its turning different colors you should go to the doctor. you may need a steroid cream or cortisone shot.
