Does having diabetes cause your periods to be heavy?
Question:
Answers:
I had the same situation!
The diabetes is not the cause. However, other conditions can be related to diabetes - the most common is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). You can read the wealth of info on that, but PCOS & insulin resistance are two peas in a pod.
Anyhoo,
Many women with (and without) PCOS also discover that they have endometriosis and that does cause heavy periods.
Now that you are pre-diabetes, you need to stay on top of all your symptoms. Make sure to discuss this problem with a GYN. If you have been putting off your visit, now is the time.
Stay on the meds or diet recommendations of your endocrinologist so you don't move into the full-blown diabetes realm.
It sure can, dear. Try going on a walk at least three times per week. It helped me a LOT. I used to have a nonstop period for months and it went away now that I did that stopped weighing over 160s.
It's really not the diabetes itself causing it though. it's the problems that cause the diabetes also happen to cause that bleeding.
scientifically diabetes should have no effect on the period but it can cause over bleeding in some people and this may explain your bleeding gums i say go to a Doctor because diabetic people are more susceptible to infections than normal people i say go to a doctor
no, there may be something else wrong. get checked by a doctor
Yes, prediabetes causes a variety of hormonal imbalances that can include everything from acne to extreme menstrual problems. Best thing is to go see your doctor and get tests run on your hormones. The bleeding gums could be due to an iron deficiency, because problems like that are much easier to develop when you have insulin resistance/prediabetes. Try to eat well with a very limited carb intake (carbs cause your insulin to spike and make more hormones to aggravate your condition.) Best of luck...
NO
yes it can and it can also make them short and none at all. i had to have a hysterectomy when i was 27 because of the diabetes and the damage to the female organs. keeping your blood sugar in check will help you have more normal periods.
