How do i get rid of itchiness that is called thrush?
Question:
It drives me insane? sex does stop it, but i think also causes it.
Now i have tried cold showers, olive oil was ok. But it keeps coming back.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
kind regards
Ron

Thrush can be passed on during sex - so abstaining when you have it is GOOD!
There are tablets & creams & pessaries - depending where you are suffering most! You can get thrush (Candida Albicans) in any of the warm moist recesses of your body inclusing your throat, armpits, penis (vagina - delete as appropriate!) and anus.
A good tablet (in the UK) is Diflucan - Canestan also create a good tablet and cream duo to treat the fungus internally and externally.
Eating live yoghurt helps to control it as does taking tablets available from the health store valled Acidophilus (acid off illus as I was told the other day!!)
Take the Diflucan first then keep up with yoghurt or the acidophilus to keep it at bay!
BTW - if you DO have it in your throat - do NOT take normal throat sweets as they will kill the bacteria which are the only things able to fight the fungus!!
Also - some folk are just more prone to getting thrush - taking all the cures will only hold it at bay for a while and it could well come back (especially if your partner is not treated!)
An antifungal medication there is a good one called Nystatin!
yeah sex makes thrush worse, get to the chemist of the doctors and get an anti fungal cream, canisten is good, also your partner needs to be treated or it will be passed on again to you when you next have sex
i also agree. u do have a fungal infection. its like yeast infection in women but yours in the skin. best recommendations go to the doctor and tell him/her to give u medication for that. and if u do have a sexual partner tell that person 2 best check themselves 2 because thrush can be transmitted from person 2 person. u may be the "carrier" as well as someone may be giving it 2 u. i say this because if u try curing it, it will never go away unless u find out where or who is it coming from
You must use antifungal treatment, can be bought over the counter at a pharmacy. It is vital your partner is also treated or you will simply keep re-infecting each other. The longer the condition is left untreated the harder it will be to get rid of.
If you have thrush in your mouth you need an antibiotic that you swish and swallow 3 or 4 times a day till it is gone . Probably around 7 to 10 days. If it is on your body probably need an powder or cream with an antibiotic.
If it keeps coming back it could be because you are passing it on to your sexual partner and they then are passing it back. If you treat it make sure your partner does as well. I personally would see a doctor if its continual as its associated with your immune system.
