microdermabrasion is not good for preventive skin care. it is a resurfacing technique that helps remove dull skin, acne scars, wrinkles and age spots that are already on your face, it cannot help you prevent skin aging and other skin imperfections.

You can do your own. Olay has a kit - with all the stuff you need. It is like an exfoliation and chemical peel (very mild)
so yuo can do it yourself at home. I use it 2-3 times a week to help rejuvenate my skin. I'm 55 and I look 35-40.
There are other ones too but I can't think of who makes them.
It is a way to exfoliate. It takes all the dead skin cells off your skin. Your skin will look brighter and healthier. It does not hurt at all to get it done...it kind of feels like a cat tongue licking you. It is a maintenance thing.so you need to do it regularly to keep the results. I think you could start doing this in your early 20's.
