Here are some remedies that other folks have used to speed healing of cold sores. Ice, lysine, essential oils, frozen tea bags (my invention), alcohol (for cleaning the wound, not drinking – that comes later) and zinc.
Kim, my recommendation is the frozen wetted tea bags. Tea is a plant with amazing phyto-nutrients that will help to heal that cold sore quickly. Putting it on the sore frozen will reduce the pain and help drive the virus back into hiding. Herpes virus hates the cold. Takes the fun out of replicating I guess.

there is nothing you can do 4 coldsores, they are an std, herpies, and nothing cures them. you can treat the symtomes though, the best is abreva. it will not cure herpies but will help they symtoms, coldsores
try using a vitamin called L-lysine. my husband is prone to cold sores and takes this and has no problems. when you have a breakout take 2 pills until it leaves and then take 1 a day under normal conditions. it helps build your immune system against this.
