Are all diabetics emotional drama queens?

Question:

Answers:
I think a lot of diabetics...especially female ones...are going to take offense to your question...myself included.

Why...do you think I wanted this? I certainly never did. I have type 1 and have had it for years. Am I a "drama queen"? Absolutely not.

While mood swings do happen due to sugar fluctuations, it does not make me a drama queen. I don't milk this. If anything, I don't advertise it. It's just something that happened to me and I live with it. I deal with it and I don't let it control me or my life. I control it.

You need to watch what you ask. I don't know what prompted you to ask such a question but I can't imagine you will be getting many positive responses.

EMT
no they are not. However if blood sugar is out of control some may have episodes of anger or emotions due to extreme high and lows
Yes
Mood swings would certainly be one symptom of blood sugar levels that are too high or too low. Add that to the knowledge that one is suffering from a life threatening illness that will have to be managed forever and that "management" includes strict diet, and/or frequent blood tests and self administered injections and you might reasonably expect a little emotional drama. On the other hand I have known many people with diabetes who are perfectly pleasant people whom you could know for years without ever being aware that they are diabetic, probably due to good management. And I suppose there are some who would be drama queens whether they had a medical condition or not.
Or is it just that all drama queens are diabetic?

The world has its mysteries.
no I am a diabetic and I not a drama queen
Wow! Brave person for asking that question..and it seems like everyone who disagrees with your thought processes gets a thumb down! I too am female, insulin dependent for most of my 36 years, and as a nurse work 12 1/2 hr shifts in a critical care unit. While the work i do is high stress, I do my job just as well as any nondiabetic individual does. And I do not use my diagnosis as a crutch to get out of any requirements or to be a "drama queen". And I, like EMT, do not appreciate the stereotype. You should not label people based simply on one or two observatons.
Excuuuuuuuuuuuse Meeeeeeee!! I resemble that remark!! LOL No, not everyone but you can have moods and emotional swings with the highs and lows of the blood sugar. You either have to accept it or not.
It would be natural to assume that due to fluctuations in blood sugar levels, diabetics can blame their mood swings to their diabetic condition. However, those that take responsibility for their actions won't and in spite of all difficult circumstances, function as normally as they can. These are the ones who will read and understand more about their condition and do the best they can.
You can't be serious. Are all men pigs? Are all women shopaholics? Are all politicians corupt...well maybe not such a good example. Don't stereotype people, that's how prejudice starts. I am a drama queen, however, my best friend is a diabetic and most definitely not a drama queen!
they can't be any worse than you, can they?
I am beginning to believe so, and they are extremely rude and act like the world owes them something. I work with them daily and every day I am thinking of quiting because of the patients. The pay is great the patients are jerks.
I start off treating each person with respect and they always start yelling and cussing at me.

Rude people get no help!
