What is this reaction to antibiotics?

Question:
EVERY antibiotic I've EVER taken has caused the same reaction. I get these tiny little pimples on my top back, chest, and face. Its not right away, pretty much a few days after starting the meds. I've had the dermatologist look at them but he just said they were acne, and treated me for that. (psst...didn't work). I never have this kind of break out unless I've taken antibiotics.

I'd really like to know if anyone else has experienced this, or has any information on what it could be. It would really suck if I'm just allergic to antibiotics, in general. Thanks.

PS No dumb-*** answers, like "take a shower" okay? Thanks!

Answers:
If it happens while you are on antibiotics after going in the sun, it could be mild photosensitivity. Stay out of the sun while on antibiotics and if you get them, use cortizone cream on them.
Antibiotics actually kill the bacteria that cause acne so technically it should clear it up, not give it to you. Maybe it is an allergic reaction such as hives?
if it's acne, it's not an allergic reaction. acne though is a type of infection of the skin. usually caused by staph. If you are taking antibiotics that disrupt your normal flora (your body's natural bacterias) you can develop secondary infections. One type of antibiotic does not kill every bacteria. certain bacterias are susceptible to certain antibiotics.
