Does zinc oxide have a drying effect?

Question:
I recently bought some SolarSense face sunblock, and I've been using it almost every day. I noticed a few days ago that my skin has been getting noticeably red and dry, and I'm wondering if the zinc oxide in the sunblock is the culprit. Does zinc oxide have a drying effect on the skin?

Answers:
It does. Wash your face after using this product. Then moisturize like crazy.
