I don't know . But they love me.. @

Because some of us are tastier than others!
I read that mosquitoes are attracted to carbon dioxide, so perhaps some are eating/drinking/chewing something that masks the scent of it more than others.
think its something to do with your sweat. they do say that if you take garlic tablets you are less likely to get bitten.
Some people's body's contain more potassium than others, which makes your body produce a natural repellent against mosquitos. Just try eating more bananas!
i think part of it has to do if someone is sweatier, they might like those people better because of the salt.
biting insects can be more drawn toward warmer people..
but the fact is that soem people react more than others.. so some people will get a nasty red itchy spot with almost every bite.. and others will only get the occasional reaction and red bump.. everyone is bitten more or less the same.. just depends how allergic u r to the insects bite
some people smell better than others
Some people say it is the type and color of clothing that one wears. I dont believe that.
I think that mosquitios just bite and dont discriminate. If someone is ove the age of 5 and have never been bitten either they just did not know it, use some type of mosquito repellent, are lying or they are just plain lucky.
Body fragrance
It is all to do with the chemicals we release in our sweat, which attract the mosquitos, nothing to do with the blood itself. Some people give off more unattractive (at least to mossies) smells and they don't get bitten, sometimes even if they are the only "bite" around, and some of us (like me) must give off really apetising smells and they go for us again and again and again.
I know.they always get me and my youngest, but hubby and my eldest are bite free!grrrrr

Someone told me to use citrizine oil to deter them...must get some;o]

It has to do with skin pH. Ppl have varying pHs ranging from mildly alkaline (basic) to mildly acidic. We all have bacteria on our skin, depending on how neutral or polar our skin pH is. The emissions from bacteria that live on those skin cells have different smells. Mosquitoes are attracted to some of those, and not others.
That is quite an interesting question. There is some evidence that they tend to bite women rather than men. This is thought to be because they are attracted to female pheromones. There may be other chemical differences in sweat that cause preferential biting as well.

Another element that confuses the issue is that people vary a great deal as to how strongly they react to the bite. This depends on how allergic you are to the mosquito saliva. The more sensitive you are the worse the swelling, redness and itch. This means that some people who are bitten are hardly aware of the bite, as they do not respond to it. This may give the mistaken impression that they are not being bitten.

they bite everyone. most of us are allergic to mosquito bites, but there are a few lucky people who arent. so they dont get a red itchy bump like most of us.
Its the harmones - the smell of blood - body odours that humans cannot sense - though are high enough for the darn buzzers to find in any situation. I hate mosquitoes they suck!
They do bite everyone, but some folk are like me who can be bitten & not have a reaction to them.
One night when we were camping, my party piece was to let a load of them land on my arm & start biting, some of them were probing into my arm & sucking with shere delight, after all this not one mark on me.
