Why does my child get nose bleeds often, she doesn't pick her nose and we live in the basement, it is moist?

When I was young (5-8 years old), I used to get them all the time. My pediatrician told us that the vessels were very close to the thin skin inside my nostrils. Beware he cauterized both nostrils (meaning he burnt the tissue by sticking acid on a q-tip deep into each nostril) to stop the nosebleeds. Very upsetting for me and my Mom (he didn't give us much warning about what he was about to do, inflict great pain). Not sure it was worth getting rid of nose bleeds for the next several years, I still get some here and there.
However, be aware that there are several other more serious reasons / conditions your daughter could be having nosebleeds, so you should get her checked out. I do not want to scare you by listing them when it is hopefully something minor like mine was.
Nosebleeds are very common in children and are usually caused when a tiny blood vessel burst.
also try a little saline solution every evening.
sometimes nose bleed is from heat...i got nose bleed as a kid due to heat...
