Will drinking plenty of water help prevent illness?

Question:

Answers:
Well, not really. You need an adequate amount of water, more if you are active especially when it is hot. Drinking lots of water will aid in the prevention of urinary tract infections and kidney stones. Sometimes people with kidney and heart disease need to restrict the amount of water they drink.
NO! someone told me to try water therapy (i have colds/cough), i drink gallons of water everyday and i'm still sick. not to mention i have to go pee every 15 minutes.
Sure - some of them. Your body is 70 percent water. Change it frequently.
Drink too much water and you will probably drown. At least if that happens you won't get ill.
Nope, especially if you drink tainted water.
But it will keep you from getting dehydrated.
no..juz drink 8 glass per day...if you drink to much...maybe u can get sick
Drinking plenty of water would to little to prevent illness on its own. I'm sure it would help somewhat, particularly with your kidneys, but you should also consider (if you haven't already) not smoking, drinking moderately, consuming caffeine moderately, eating plenty of fruit and veg, minimizing your intake of sugary processed foods and exercising. If you do all of these things you will reduce the chances of doveloping a serious illness like cancer, and at the same time boost your immune system. You will not eliminate it entirely as there are genetic factors that play a role.

In short, I think it would help to drink plenty of water, but it's effects alone would be minimal. It would be a good starting point if you are trying to adopt healthy habits.

Hope this helps
