Sorry to break it down to you, but a cold sore is a form of Herpes Simplex 1.
try methylated spirit dab on some of it. pop a couple of the blisters and dab it on. it stings like a b**** but it works. helps it dry faster then cover with a bit of gloss and your good to go. trust me i trustrd my grandma and it worked.
