I have been getting a lot of small whiteheads from lying in the sun, why is this, & what can I do about them?

Question:
MY skin is usually very clear, however after coming on holiday and being in the sun, my chin has become covered in tiny white spots.

Answers:
If it is only on your chin then it may not be from being in the sun. It could be from getting sun block on your face or from the foods you have been eating while on holiday. Whiteheads are really just tiny infections in your skin pores. They become infected when bacteria gets pushed down into the pores and becomes trapped which in turn makes the body try to expel the bacteria just like it would with any other infection. If you are in the sun a lot then it's very possible you are shedding more skin than usual which can clog pores. It can also be from wiping your chin with unclean hands or from smearing something on your chin such as food or oils that can cause dirt and ick to get stuck to your skin.
