Depends on the gravity of the acne. For the more severe cases of acute acne, dermatologists may, reluctantly, prescribe Accutane. Accutane is a highly regulated medication.

Alternatives include various anitbiotics.

Anyway, I use Clear Care, or something like that.
erthyromycin
It is best if you can get by with locally applied creams and lotions. Use pills only if the local stuff doesn't work.
calamine lotion it drys up the acne with out all the harsh
chemicals of the other stuff.

dermatologist usually never prescribe this though.
it's has some serious side effects.
