My cousin just went through what sounds the same thing. The doctor lance it open and found out it was caused from his diabetes and it has come back 4 time in 6 mths and they keep lancing it and putting antibiotic's in it and packing it . the doctor said it was not cancer yet but he will have to keep a close eye on it and he will have to loose weight and exercise .The call it infected diabetic fat pockets and if he where to not get it lanced he could die from the poison it holds and it is very painful
So go and get it check out
Yes, he should go to the Doctor and have it looked at.
My son had a lump on his lower back and he was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. His spleen was very enlarged, pushing other organs aside, and his white blood cell count very high. Fortunately, there are some excellent new drugs available which are very effective against CML. My son is doing well right now.

The sooner your uncle goes to the doctor for an examination, the better. The earlier treatment begins for a serious illness, the more likely survival is. Go!
