Does anyone know of someone who is blind from one eye?
I`m 6`3" tall and diabetic.,iwish it were true .
no it has to do with your:
.diet
.life style
.and genetics
I have heard all kinds of stupid studies linking all sorts of things like this. From what I can tell, this claim is probably about as stupid as it sounds. However, genes ARE linked, and many may express more than one trait. So anything is possible.
For example, people with autoimmune Type 1 diabetes are usually Caucasian, and often have a Northern European background. The genetic HLA type that makes one prone to develop Type 1 diabetes is very common in Northern Europeans. That said, it seems like a disproportionate amount of people with autoimmune diabetes have red or blonde hair (and green or blue eyes), or an ancestor/family member who does.
P.S. Type 1 diabetes is NOT preventable in any way. It has NOTHING to do with lifestyle.
