I hope they do not fall for the old chestnut, well it is religious. The verdict is nothing to do with religion, its just good husbandry.

Well yes they should however the bull is not part of a herd, its not a commercial animal it does not travel and i dont believe that bovine TB is infectious to humans ( but I could be wrong on that)
so its not going to infect anyone, but TB is a slow death so yes it should be "put to sleep" when its quality of life fails
Why do we all shy away from things that are to do with "Religion" we give it too much credence, if the cow is infected kill the bloody thing and have done with it!
While I Agree With You That Religion Is Little More Than An Excuse These Days, I Don't Think They Do Need To Kill The Cow, As It Will Not Be Eaten (I Don't Think It Will, Anyway).
