Answers:
No, no, the doctor won't have to amputate your foot. Plantar warts are extremely resistant to over-the-counter treatments; these warts, being on the bottom of your foot, receive constant pressure and may grow more deeply into your skin. An over-the-counter wart removal product may remove part of the wart; the remnant, under the skin, will just grow back. Sometimes the part of the wart under the skin is 2-3 times larger than the wart that shows--just like an iceberg!
You have made the right decision regarding treatment of your plantar wart. Physicians have several different ways of removing plantar warts. I cannot tell you exactly what to expect, as I don't know what method your doctor will be using.

Good luck!
they will have to scrape it until they get the entire wart and roots out.
Heck no they won't! Chill out my friend!
lol.
aww that's just silly! don't worry, you'll still have your foot.
There would be no point, once it has gone up the leg it all has to be removed at the hip joint and suitable anti wart prosthetics fitted.
Good grief I hope not! I have one on my foot also and have not been able to get rid of it either. lol
I was thinking I should go to the docs too.
I am sure everything will be just fine. Let me know what /how they remove the wart.
I'm rooting for you--a bad choice of words. sorry
