I was diagnosed with a MRSA a month ago-my WBC was high and then went below normal after 3 wks of IV antibiot

This is a completely normal part of the SIRS (systemic inflammatory cascade) response to infection. White cells fight infection; at the very early part of an infection the body "reves" up and the bone marrow makes many new white cells from the clones and those "marginalized" (or not in the blood circulation) zoom in to fight the infection and the count goes up. As the infection proceeds, the white cells either get used up or localize to the infection in the tissues--a white count only counts those cells that are in circulation--so the count drops. As you recover the count normalizes. This is why a single WBC can not always be used to diagnose an infection--you need to see the whole picture.
No, I think that as long as the MRSA doesn't become resistant to the antibiotic you are taking (Vancomycin?), then as far as I'm aware you should be fine once the treatment is over and your WBC returns to normal.
Good luck and take care! =)
