I have a friend who has been an alcoholic for years now and i have to watch him drink himself to death slowly. I admire you and hope you succeed in beating this illness and i pray my friend will follow suit soon. Good luck.
I'm sorry I have no proper answer for you but I wanted to say good for you, go for it and good luck.
this is the white knuckle ride , take the dia and try and get to the doctor's asap get Librium. good luck
its an illness my friend
start exercising , walking, swimming, jogging, anything that makes you feel good, drink loads of water & eat properly
If you can exercise, running in particular can help. It also tires you out and helps you sleep.
I would advise you to go to the ER and get into a detox unit detoxing off of alcohol is very dangerous you could experience seizures and that is very very dangerous. They could offer you a more comfortable detox with the right medications and help you need also long term maintenance is offered.
Have no answer as I do not know, but just wanted to say all the best, and I'll be praying for you
I feel for you totally!
But you have made the first & hardest step! But its very important to stick with it now. Take a diazapam for sure, the doctor would not have given it to you if you didnt need it. But dont rely on it forever. One day you will have to go to sleep without. Find something to keep you busy. Go running or to the gym. This will make your body tired. The longer you stick with this, the better you will feel. & after a week you will great. BUT! Thats when the hard opart stars. You'll think your cured & a beer with your mates will be easy & no problem. Dont belive yourself! If you are a acholic. You will always be!
The very very best of luck!
detox doesn't work studies proved that if you eat pizza and chocolate your body is still as healthy as those who went on a detox diet but they did find that eating lots of colourful food like tomatoes/carrots e.c.t did help your body i'd say not to deprive yourself of anything else just aim to quit alcohol for now if you try to quit everything it will be too hard have your coffee your chocolate keep yourseld occupied with sport/ exerise and hobbies for now and good luck
good luck with your detox. i hope you succeed and be alcohol free. GOOD LUCK!!

I would recommend that you speak to your doctor before taking diazepam. It can sometimes cause problems if you are taking chlordiazepoxide. I also wish you the best of luck. These first few weeks can be really tough, but it does get better. May you have the strength and wisdom to get through this.
