How do you know if you're diabetic?
I'm a recently recovering alcoholic, tend to crave sugar and I just wonder if I would know if I was diabetic and what the dangers of nontreatment are...
Answer:
Diabetes is best determined through blood glucose tests which can be done and evaluated by your doctor. Symptoms include polyuria (excessive urination), polydipsia (excessive thirst), and polyphagia (excessive hunger) due to insulin not being enough to use up your glucose for energy.
Complications include blindness, gangrene (death of cells due to problems in circulation because of excessive glucose in the blood), kidney problems, cardiac problems, stroke, coma, etc. Diabetes has a LOT of systemic problems the come along with it, meaning most parts of your body will have problems as long as it is not controlled. It is best to have a consult so that you can have peace of mind, and to have a balanced diet. For non-insulin dependent diabetes, the best treatment is diet modification and constant monitoring of blood glucose.
Hope this helps!
Can a man get AIDS if a lady give him oral sex?
very frequent urination, weight loss, constant sensation of thirst, frequent infections of skin. Nontreatment is fatal.
Go have your sugar level checked by a doc. Some of the signs are thirstfulness, sores that wont heal, and fatigue. I've never heard of anyone craving sugar. Usually cant get enough to drink. But check it out with the doc to be safe, and congratulations on you sobriety! God Bless.
