Can humans get sick from dogs?

Question: my dog is sick (throwing up) last night and puked on my blacket while i was sleeping and when i woke up this morning i was running a fever and was feeling like i was going to hurl. can any one explain this im freaked out?

Answers:
No not generally. There are some parasites that can be passed though. It is fairly difficult to get them.
