My pulse is always around 103, should i see a doctor?
Question:
Answers:
While I'm not a doctor, I am an EMT, and I don't get much concerned when my patients have a slightly rapid pulse, and it's something that has been consistent for years. The normal range is 60-100, so, if you're only 3 over, I wouldn't worry about it.
I don't think it is normal...around 70 is normal...I would see a doctor just to be safe
I wouldn't worry about a 103 pulse. A normal range for adults is 60-100. The brainiac who said 70 is normal and 103 isn't doesn't know enough about it. 72 is a so-called average and anything from 60 to 100 is normal. Some of my patients have usual pulses higher than yours. I take it your doctor has never commented on it. The EMT above me is fine with your pulse, too. That's a nurse, an EMT and a doctor. However, a pulse isn't an Infectious Disease.
It could be normal or not (stress and coffeine can affect heart beat /pulse). Nobody knows for sure. For me, tachycardia is tachycardia.
If you worry, better let your doctor check on you. Get ECG test. Normal test result at least calm you down.
How old are you? Do you have a regular exercise regime? Are you feeling stressed or in a bad mood when you are taking your pulse rate?
All these affects your pulse rate. Infants and children often have a more rapid pulse rate than adults, and adults without a regular exercise, especially a cardio-vascular endurance excercise often have a higher pulse rate. Stressed, bothered, hot, or being angry increase your pulse rate.
Morever, the most accurate pulse reading is when you just woke up after adequate uninterrupted sleep, without any dreams or nightmares.
At a pulse rate, i would not be too worried. You should perhaps start monitoring your blood pressure.
