Are doctors/nurses able to give hiv test results over the phone?
Question:
Answers:
as the result of a hiv test can be potentially life changing and very damaging the health professional providing the result would need to be not only the mesenger but also a counsellor and advocate. giving the result over the phone can be considered dangerous as the person giving the result cannot guaruntee the state of mind the patient is and what they may do if it was thje worst.
not sure but i would say no way
Because of issues involving privacy, I think you will have to go in.
Good luck and may God bless you.
Probably not, due to privacy issues. I'd imagine they would have to make the notification either in person (preferably) or in writing.
No, you have to go into the hospital for the test results because of the privacy laws.
not unless u have a number and even then they have to have a bunch of security. so be careful if u need to go to the office itself.
Normally yes, but many wont as if it's positive they normally want to tell you in person.
no they shouldn't be.. not according to HIPPA
to take an hiv test they have to take blood so no that would be impossible but you could always just casually ask your pcp
