If a patient's blood test comes back positive for syphilis what other diseases should he be tested for?

Question:

Answers:
there are more, and less specific tests for syphilis, so first make sure to have the most specific test for syphilis that you can get. then i would ask the doctor about ordering some tests for auto-immune diseases.
He should be tested for all STD - HIV/AIDS, clamydia, etc. Syphillis is an STD but very treatable. However, it's always good to check for all other diseases as well. I'm surprised that the doctor didn't do that when he got his syphillis test.
Your doctor should know what else to test for if you have had unprotected sex. I'm sure HIV and a number of others.
If positive for leus (syph) a full std and hiv panel should be run.
any sexual contacts should be notfied to do the same and no sexual activity should commence until completing treatment course and a go ahead from the doctor

if one contracts syph, they could have easily been exposed to every other sexually transmitted disease

Advise same to use a condom!!!!
All other STDs.
If you've had unprotected sex, you should be getting std tested about every 6 months or so. Find a clinic in you're area that offers these service's for free.
