Cancer can generate as a result of normal aging, in response to environmental cues or triggers, or in response to a genetic fault or trigger. We may have a genetic tendency towards one form of cancer but that does not necessarily mean we will develop cancer. Also, some cancers are benign in that they will continue to grow but will stay put and are in the main easily treatable. In contrast, the malignant ones will spread or metastasise to other body parts and these are more challenging to treat. The biochemistry of tumour growth is complicated. Many scientists spend a whole life time studying that! To put it simply, cancer is really cell growth or cell division gone wrong, in that these cells have lost the trigger to die off (senesence).
Most cancers are treatable and curable in these modern times. We all have risk factors for some disease or illness. If you have some known diseases in the family it is always best to take precautions. Eat healthily, avoid chemicals and take precautions for your health always.

Some kinds of cancer are caused by things people do. Smoking can cause cancers of the lungs, mouth, throat, bladder, kidneys and several other organs, as well as heart disease and stroke. While not everyone who smokes will get cancer, smoking increases a person's chance of getting the disease. Drinking a lot of alcohol has also been shown to increase a person's chance of getting cancer of the mouth, throat, and some other organs. This is especially true if the person drinks and smokes.

when cells stop functioning as they should and start to grow and take up other cells food and air supply and it keeps on growing while not actually preforming any function. This can be caused by Ionising radiation, also smoking.

‘Cancer is a disease caused by normal cells changing so that they grow in an uncontrolled way. The uncontrolled growth causes a lump called a tumour to form. If not treated, the tumour can cause problems by invading normal tissues nearby or by causing pressure on other body structures.’
But as to WHY - truth is, nobody knows - though many people have a pet theory, often ill-informed. There is a proven link between smoking and lung cancer, and between sun exposure and skin cancer
You can have a healthy lifestyle - eat organic, maintain a healthy weight, exercise, avoid additives etc - and still get cancer.
I reckon the two main risk factors in getting cancer are
1) having a body
2) bad luck
1.smoking
2.if your forefathers were having it than you will have
3.No plastic containers in micro
4.No water bottles in freezer
5.No plastic wrap in microwave...
6.A dioxin chemical causes cancer, especially breast cancer
7.Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies.
8. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic.
9. we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers... This especially applies to foods that contain fat
10.the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body...
11.using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food... You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else.
12.Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc

Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg 's aminos or sea salt.

A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.
No one really knows.All cancer is,is an abnormal growth of cells.Some cells start to divide at a faster rate then they are suppose to.There are many theories,but know one knows why.If we knew why certain cell start to divide faster than normal, we could cure cancer.
