My wife is taking this medication for"Poly-Myalgia-Rheumatica," what is the cause of this problem and where does it come from.I wish to thank people for taking time to answer previous questions concerning this and red blood spots on arms large and small.

Sounds like this is caused by autoimmunity, when her body is reacting against itself and attacking it. Prednisone is a steriod that might help with this.
