What SPF of suntan lotion should black/or darker skinned people use?

Question:
I'm going to Vegas on vacation in a few weeks and I know the sun is brutal there. I'm African American. I know black people aren't affected as bad as white people when it comes to sun burn but I still want to be cautious. What SPF is right for a darker skinned black person?

Answers:
You're very wise to use sunscreen. Darker skinned people can absolutely get skin cancer, even though it is much more common in people with fair skin. You may not burn, but you still want to keep those harmful rays from penetrating your skin.
I would probably go with at least an SPF 15. That way, you can be assured that you're getting good protection.
