Fungus? POISONOUS?

Question:
Had some work done on the corner of my house, where the rain leaked into my room, last night looking behind my wardrobe, i found piles upon piles of dark yellow fungus, that looks like wax! its really wierd shape, none look the same!
Is this dangerous, as i heard that some fungus can be very dangerous to inhale in the air etc!
I have a insurance guy coming tomorrow morning.
Thanks
The Pmiester :)

Answers:
Some people are sensitive to the spores of fungi (mould), or if your immune system is weak you can succumb to fungi in the lungs. But their spores are in the air all the time, although you don't want to inhale more than you need to. Do not disturb the fungi and the area around them. You have a bad case of wet rot.
I hope it's for Life Insurance.
That sounds like dry rot. Its a fungus that attacks the wood in your house, it sucks out all the moister in the wood and leaves it crumbling. If its left untreated it can destroy your home. If the insurance people are coming they will confirm if it is dry rot or what ever type of fungus it is. But the best thing to do is to take evrything out of your room and don't touch the fungus as the sporse will become airborn and affect other parts of your house.
