You need to keep the area dry, moister builds up, and causes a reaction, use talcum powder, or corn starch powder, that should help.
take a bath and put cream on it and get rest with legs separated.

Baby powder...Ammens.
Wash with an antibacterial soap and make your boyfriend shave.
i'm confused about yoru question. are you waying YOUR rash is due to bacteria? or are you asking if that's the cause? cuz it's not the only cause. heat can cause that. so can excessive moisture or really dry skin. so that if your thighs rub together, it can cause irritation and, subsequently, a rash. i use a cortizone cream from a drugstore (my ankles get super dry and i get a rash), but lotion and keeping the arean clean and hydrated (i.e. drinking plenty of water, not dousing your thighs in water) will also help.
Lots of people get heat rash and chafe, dont listen to the ewww dude, what a puss, try some of that jock itch cream lotrimine, or some people say corn starch works. After you get home from work shower and sleep in the nude, it may sound funny but underwear can rub on it and keep iritating it.
