What should I do about the mole on my arm?

Question:
I had a mole on the back of my fore-arm for quite a while - it became a little itchy, I scratched it and scratched it a bit too much, it bled a bit - then the mole was gone. Weeks later it was back again, slightly larger and itchy again - I must have scratched at it while I was sleeping again as now although it's faded the area around it has become a freckly colour and seems to have swollen a little.

I would normally just see a doctor and get it sorted out but I'm working in Taiwan at the moment and don't really trust the doctors here (past exp).

Can a mole on a fore-arm be dangerous? How can I treat it/ take care of it? Any way to control it or anything - I'm not bothered about having moles - it's just I'm worried about the possibility of skin-cancer. I will return to the UK in December - then I will see a doctor. Any help please?

Answers:
any change to moles needs to be investigated, if they itch as yours does, if they bleed, like yours did,etc etc.SOONER rather than later december is too late.Surely there must be a reputable medical place there?
They need to remove it or take biopsy to test, quick n easy.Ive had it done.
you must see a doctor-better safe than sorry, maybe theres a british doctor working private, see local yellow pages,or ask the british embassy
you should go see a doctor. it could be skin cancer. i read about these everywhere in magazins. they usually turn out to be infectious or skin caner. i would go to the doctor and get it checkif i were you. =]. if the mole is not perfectly circle, then its very likely to have a problem. if its discolored then that might also be a problem.
Any change in moles should be seen by a DR.
You must have this seen to it could be too late by December
i would see pest control, maybe they can advise you of how to get rid of it,someone like rentokil, hope this answers your question.
please go see a doctor. it's probably fine but if it is cancerous it can spread quite quickly through to surrounding tissue meaning a much bigger op than just removing the mole, one of my relatives had to undergo this because they ignored it. better to err on the side of caution in my book take care i'm sure it'll be fine but please get it checked out x
check out the NHS website for full details but I would not wait until December to have it checked sounds like it is now infected .. even when you get it looked at it will take a few weeks maybe to get the results back . are you prepared to wait?
Definitely get to a doctor... should be able to find a reliable ex-pat in Taiwan!
your mole could be just irritated, but is the risk of waiting till december worth it. if it was cancer. my farther had a mole on his neck that bleed and itched, he was working at sea and coulnt get to shore straight away he had it check as soon as he could (abroad) and was cancer. he egnored advice and waited till he got home to have sorted by english doc... six months later he was dead.. cancer moves quick you be quicker. just get it checked to be sure.
Absolutely.

Yes, a mole on the arm is dangerous. Didn't you previously scratch "...a bit -"), it went away, and now has returned while sleeping again. Did not accidental contact produced unhealthy results? You don't treat moles. You don't take care of any moles. I'd expect mole departure before December arrives. Its my cool climate. Taiwan is warm at year's end?

Feel free to worry about skin cancer but this is not the usual result of having insectivorous burrowing mammals about. Please consider obtaining pest control services because running off to the UK as a plan just leaves this dark-gray fur creature at liberty for nocturnal explorations on other sleeping people.
I have just had a massive skin cancer cut out my nose and it started like you are describing go to the doctor ASAP.Good Luck it might be nothing but best get it checked.
Set it free its a wild animal not a pet.
