i have had eczema all my life - so bad that i have had to sleep in wet wraps at night. i can't swim or take baths because my eczema is so bad that the chlorine will hurt me - bad. so, don't believe that you're the only one - you're not - i know what you're going through - i'll pray for you!

Tell your mother that you want to go to another dermatologist. Also tell her and your Dr. that you are depressed. There is help for you out there. Hang on. People have far worse problems to deal with than yours.
the worst thing that can happen is you die. please do not do something irrational. tell your mother to get you some special cream for your skin. it should take down the itching and pain. it is not worth killing yourself over. i know a lot of ppl with ur skin condition. get yourself some special soap, cos a lot of regular soaps make your skin harsh and you'll suffer more. go to the dermatologist and have him recommend something for you. things will be fine.
I hear and understand. I've had it all my life. It gets a bit better and then worse. Now I'm in a "worse" stage - LOL.
For me, it's not a matter of "does it hurt", but "how much does it hurt".
Many times I cry, thankfully my husband is there for me, even though there's nothing he can really do. He just suffers through with me.
I also hear and understand about the wanting to end your suffering. All I can say about that is soldier on and hope that tomorrow is a better day than today was. And if it isn't, hope it's not as bad as another time is.
I especially love the times of year that the seasons change (insert sarcasm) as my eczema always gets worse.
You could try taking chickweed, that helped me for quite a while. Not sure how it would react with prescription meds. I'm on some sort of topical steroid now, not sure what it is, and that seems to help more than the oral steroids did. That's up to you and your doctor to decide what to try for you.
Good luck. Maybe we need to start a movement to get eczema cures on the front burner. After all, there are millions more sufferers of that than of aids and cancer.
About the prednison OD, this was all I could find. Don't do it, not worth it.

I had it when I was younger. It made my feet crack and bleed. It sounds like you have it much worse though. But I know the heat is terrible for it.
