So, are they finding cures for things yet?

Question:
I know, very uneloquent way of asking... but where are they on cures for things like Cancer, Hiv/Aids, Herpes, and etc.? I know they have had success with a new drug for Hep C. Anyone know where they are on the other two?

Answers:
Cancer : in some types and some stages - yes
HIV / AIDS : not yet, but they found HIV viral supression drugs / antiviral.
Herpes : which herpes ? Herpes genital ? No. Only reduce pain because of it's outbreak.
Hep C really curing drugs ? Never heard of it. If you mean interferon, no, you wrong. Interferon only work at certain people at certain condition. Not universal.
You must be very young. So many diseases have been eliminated or controlled. Even cancer cures are way up. There are probably diseases that you never heard of because they have been controlled or eliminated.
No one has found the cure for HIV/AIDS yet and we probably wont see one in our lifetime. Although its true researchers have come a long way in the ways to treat HIV (meds) we are not close to a cure. The one thing that we might see in our lifetime is a vaccination, but that is still very far off.
There's no rush. Although it would probably help if they held conferences at Disney World. It seems a tremendous amount of extra people go to the conferences held there.
