Smoking cancer. Can anyone wth medical experience help please. Thanks?

Question:
I've been smoking for a long time and I am now at this point where I cough and just throw up air until my eyes water. This also happens if i poke my stomach just below the ribs. My stomach also feels like it's full of air. and also my blood pressure is tightening. This has been going on for 3yrs already.

Answers:
Yeah, that sounds about right. If you can't quit (like me), at least try cutting down to one ciggy every 2 hours...when you get comfy with that, try 3 hours...then four...and then just drop it like the bad habit it is. Cold turkey doesn't work for everyone.
Stop smoking.
Sounds like a case of the Avian Flu.

Your dying buddy. Smoking cigs kill 40,000 people in Canada alone each year. You gotta stop today and see a doctor or smoke until you die.
I'm a Nurse so really you need to go to a DR. and have a full work up. I know it's hard to quit, but i think you might try Chantrix.
go see a real doctor. if this has been going on for more that 2 wks, you could have let this go on waaaay too long and it could have led to something else. Don't wait for anybody here to tell you anything else. GO SEE A DOCTOR.
Mind you that if it was something you could have fixed, it may not be now!
You must tell a doctor everything you wrote in your question. And of course, the first thing he/she will say is to quit smoking. Please have this checked out. :)
URGENTLY CHANGE YOUR DIET:

try this for 2 months, and see the results...if you haven't stop smoking...DO IT KNOW...please!

Hope you get well soon.

But first of all, visit a doctor.
Get checked for emphysema. Even if it isn't emphysema, those symptoms should get you referred to a lung doctor, who should be able to figure out what it actually is.

And even if the cigs aren't giving you the lung symptoms, please quit anyway. My HMO didn't seem to blame Mom's cancer on the smoking(!?), but she also developed peripheral arterial disease (where the arteries in some extremity collapse--in her case it was her foot); and the HMO definitely and without hesitation blamed the PAD on the smoking. Since she had squamous-cell lung cancer, pneumonia, and PAD, we were advised to take her off the respirator and let her go.

Please give up the cigs. If you can't, then please include a paragraph in your living will saying that if you are attached to machines when they take you off the respirator and some of your relatives are sitting with you, please turn off the monitors (or please turn off the sound on the monitors if it is illegal to turn off the monitors at that point).
It sounds like you have emphysema or COPD which are smoking related diseases. It is also possible that you may have lung cancer. In order to know for sure and to get treatment for these VERY SERIOUS diseases you need to have your family physician refer you to a pulimary function physician, who can preform test to give you an accurate diagnoses. Of course the best way to start feeling better is to get on a stop smoking aid like Chantix and quit smoking. Then you can concentrate on getting your lungs healed up as much as possible and get the medications that will help you cope with the damage you have done to your lungs. All of this will add considerable years to your life, if you stick with it. For more information on what might be your diagnoses and support for quitting smoking, check out these links...
The best of luck to you, I know how hard it is!
Well the obvious answer is try to quit smoking. Have u tried any of the stop smoking aids available? There is a new medication called Chantix that is supposed to really help break the habit, but u must want to quit before anything will work. Ur cough is, of course, a cigarette cough. Ur stomach symptoms may not be related to smoking but just caused from swallowing air. I don`t quite understand what u mean by ur blood pressure "tightening" If u mean that ur B/P is high, that too is related to smoking, as smoking constricts the arteries. It is in ur best interest to try to quit the habit. Good luck and give it ur best effort, u don`t want to be walking around with portable oxygen in a few more years, do you?
Your brief history guide me to "severe gasteritis" PLUS "severe reflux" . Smoking is a predisposing of both . So you must go to a Gastroenterologist for further work ups ( H.Pylori tests , Endoscopy + sampling & . . . ) and appropriate treatment .
It's obvious and need not to say for several times ; but , I think you will benefit from hearing aids! , because you can't hear other people's advice! ( regarding : DON'T SMOKE ) .

I'm not agree with Emphysema , because it can not completely explain your brief history , also it's prevalence is in 6th decade of life (your photo is about 20-30 !?) .

You write : ...if i poke my stomach just below the ribs. My stomach also feels like it's full of air... : This is not due to Emphysema . Emphysema and chronic bronchitis is common in smokers and need special attentions specially when become uncompensated , but my answer was gathered toward your brief history over this page .
Sounds like emphasyma.
stop smoking and get a chest x-ray
you need to go to the doctor. you need a chest x-ray first of all. You need to find out what's going on with you. It may not have anything to do with your lungs or smoking, but something's obviously not right. Please help yourself.
Have a check-Up from Ur Dr.!
Go to the Doctor. An Eyes,Nose Throat guy. He puts a small tube with a TV camera in it in your nose and down your throat. He'll look around and show you on videotape if he finds anything wrong. It is not fun,but you gotta know.
you probably smoke too much, like my auncle and my father,my auncle did have the same sypmtoms like you do and was diagnosed with lung cancer.I dont mean to threaten you neither scared you,I am just simply answering your questions,I suggest you better go to a doctor so they can give you better advises to keep you healthy and to help you avoid smoking asap
