Baby with ployps?

Question:
My baby cousin who's only a year old was just diagnosed with polyps in his colon. It's going to be removed soon. Does him having it so young increase the chance for colon cancer in the future? Please anwser if you know. Thanx

Answers:
It's called juvenille polyps.
There is a small but significant risk of cancer in patients with Juvenile Polyposis, mostly due to development of adenomatous tissue in juvenile polyps.
Recommendations for screening a patient with Juvenile Polyposis include an upper and lower endoscopy every year, with removal of colonic polyps and any large upper intestinal polyps. If no polyps are seen the examinations can be done less often

Having juvenile polyposis does increase the chances of developing bowel cancer. Patients with juvenile polyposis may have a lifetime risk of colon cancer as high as 50 per cent.

Good luck for the operation !
I getta WEIRD feeling we all HAVE POLYPS.

And the doctor is removing them so he/she can take a dump...

At least, that's his excuse...

They MUST have EXCELLENT INSURANCE.

But don't worry about Colon Cancer, polyps isn't associated with it.

Think along the terms that your cousin has a MOLE in his Heiny Hole.

Mole...Mole..Moley Moley Moley!
