Definately have it checked by a dr. You didn't say whether you are prone to them or not but have them checked and something ruled out. It could be a diet issue, disease or something else but definately treatable.

Rub some bicarbonate soda (usualy used in cooking) on the ulcers this drys them ,be gone in a few days.
Did you eat some foods high is ascorbic acid?
Pineapple is one fruit that blisters my mouth right away, especially fresh pineapple.
If these stemmed from an ascorbic acid source, the in the future limit how much you eat. Sometimes I can feel a blister starting to form, I cut out the offending food on that bite.

Oral cancers can lead to ulceration as the center of the lesion loses blood supply and necroses. Squamous cell carcinoma is just one of these.

Ask your dentist to refer you to the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics and Restorative Dentistry Unit at your local hospital. These people have seen all the different things you can get in your mouth and they should sort out your problem so you can get peace of mind.
