Having cancer treatments, exactly where do u go to meet anyone in this condition?

Question:
Also still in pain and scarred for life by cancer surgeries 2x.

Answers:
There are online groups and mailing lists for many specific types of cancer that will offer support and information.

Association of Cancer Online Resources (ACOR) - Mailing lists for cancer patients, caregivers, and survivors
http://listserv.acor.org/archives/...

Cancer Care - Free professional online help for cancer patients
http://www.cancercare.org/

You can also look for local support groups through the American Cancer Society:
http://www.cancer.org/

And, you can ask at your cancer clinic for a medical social worker who can help with some counseling.

Best to you.
Check with your local hospital. There may be support groups and dating groups that they know of.
Check you local yellow pages under support groups, or you can look on-line. There are also cancer specific support groups out there. Such as breast cancer, and prostate cancer, My father goes to the latter in his area. You can also use the link to the ACS to find something in your area, for your cancer. http://www.cancer.org/docroot/home/index...
There is an organization called The Wellness Community and if there is one in your area it is a wonderful support group setting.http://www.thewellnesscommunity.org/... check them out to see if they are in your area. Otherwise, the American Cancer Society usually has a list of local support groups. Call your local chapter or find them online as well. There are societies for some forms of cancer which you can find online by entering "breast cancer organizations.
as a 15 year cancer survivor, who's had surgery, radiation, all the chemo known to man and lost and grown back hair on my head three times, I salute you. I'm not sure where you live but most places have a support group, either in the hospital, cancer clinic or in the community. I know ours has been going for about 5 years, you should be able to find one. The other support that is available, at least in Canada is one on one peer support by phone, they can also put you in touch with a group. I imagine if you are in the US, if you contact the Cancer society directly they will have all the resources you need. Don't give up, there is a group out there waiting to meet and support you...
