Causes and symptoms

The cause of primary brain tumors is unknown, but people who work with rubber and certain chemicals have a greater-than-average risk of developing them. There is no evidence that head injury causes brain tumors, but researchers are trying to determine the relationship, if any, between brain tumors and viruses, family history, and long-term exposure to electromagnetic fields.

Symptoms do not usually appear until the tumor grows large enough to displace, damage, or destroy delicate brain tissue. When that happens, the patient may experience:

-headaches that become increasingly painful and are most painful when lying down

-nausea and vomiting or sudden attacks of vomiting not accompanied by nausea

-seizures

-dizziness, loss of coordination or balance

-personality changes

-sudden loss of vision

-memory loss

-speech problems

-sensory changes

-mental impairment

-weakness or paralysis on one side of the body
Cancer isn't like other diseases with similar symptoms. If a person has cancer cells growing in their brain, different functions of the brain may be damaged depending on where exactly to tumor is forming. In fact, they may have no symptoms at all. However, intense headaches will typically occur from the added pressure of the tumor in the cranium. The presence of cancer can only be concluded after a magnetic resonance image is taken of the brain.

if you think you have one of these, you should go see a doctor they can put you at rest with just a few tests. I have had cancer and the only sympton i had was this goofy little piece of extra skin growing inside my cheek. Brain tumors - the symptoms are similar to so many things that i would hte to pin them down. but htis is what i've experienced. pleople who get seizures all at once, horrific headaches that won't go away, odd smells that you detect, but no one else does. fatigute and or just the oppposite, increditble energy and brain power. if in doyub go check it out. you'll be so relieved.
headaches, losing weight, feeling fatigue
brain tumors can have various signs and symptoms, while others have none at all. it really depends on the location of the tumor. Common symptoms include headaches, seizures, vomiting, and mental changes (awake one second, drowsy the next). Another more uncommon symptom is change in pupil size (on only 1 eye). whoever is showing these signs or symptoms should see a MD ASAP, where various tests (MRI, EEG) can be preformed.
