Can anyone tell me what it feels like to have a seizure? Petit Mal or Gramal?

Question:
My daughter has severe epilepsy and she suffers w/severe seizures. Because of her head trauma she has poor communication skills. She can't tell me, so I thought maybe someone could tell me how it makes them feel. Please no jokes! And what triggers yours?

Answers:
I had Petit Mals, they are'nt only for infants. I could feel a siezure coming on,it was called an "aura". When taking the siezure it makes you a lot stronger than normal ,at least 10 times. Mine would last around 5 seconds but take around 1 minute afterwards for me to get focused on what I was doing before. I noticed, along with a lot of others that took siezures that after having one I would be feeling worn out, tired, drained of energy and fall asleep.I was told by my Drs. what helped trigger siezures was stress and temper.
Well I can tell you that from my experience it's not during the seizures that it hurts. After the seizures I am usually out of it for a little while, my balance is off, and my legs and arms feel like I have really bad cramps in them. As far as what it feels like to have one I am usually passed out during the seizures. I also have really bad headaches afterwards for a while. As far as what triggers them, it can be many things. It's can be caused by stress, heat, or sometimes it's a random thing. I really hope your daughter grows out of them, from what I've been told most children do. I hope that what I gave you helps if you have any questions you can feel free to ask me.
Petit Mal is for babies and stuff, partial seizures is what you should call it for people who aren't babies. Grand Mal is an old term, call it tonic-clonic since it is re-occurring.

I have epilepsy and used to have complex partial seizures until I got the right medication. My seizures last maybe 30 seconds but I have no clue anything is even going on. People tell me I get a blank stare and don't respond, might twitch a little. Once I snap out of it I get really tired in 10 minutes or so.
I have had 2 times when I ended up in the hospital.
Alcohol triggered my first seizure when I was in college.
I have seizures due to a skull fracture but it is under control with anticonvulsant medication. I drive, exercise, no twitching, wandering eyes, etc.
Flashing lights can cause seizures.

Your brain continues to develop until you are 25, give it some time and she has a good chance to grow out of it. Eat right and exercise 6 days a week if possible.
hello,, I think a good example would be ,go outside during winter without your coat and sit in your car, when you start to shiver ,try not to, when you start to shake uncontrollably, don't let it happen, and when you think you can't go on anymore try walking back into your house. scary stuff. do not start your vehicle and try to drive, you will wreck.
