Bad cells, whats going on?
Question:
What I do know is that I've been referred to a new dr thats supposed to talk with me about what's going on & be able to help me.
Ever since I had my colposcopy (sp?) when I was 21 weeks along its like sometimes they act like things are serious & other times they push appointments back& make it sound like its not a big deal.
My son ended up being born premature, although there isnt a definite cause we know that my cervix played a role.
I've tested negative numerous times for hpv or any other std for that matter.
They did a bunch of biopsies after my son was born as well.
i have NO immune system and get sick all the time. & now I have lumps showing up on my neck, legs, hands & feet and look like a freaking sheet along with pain on my cervix now.
I'm feeling SO jerked around. I have NO clue what is going on with my body. should i switch drs?
Answers:
carcinoma insitu means that the cancer has not invaded yet and is still "walled off". This should be treated aggressivly because it is very high risk for metastisis or spreading. If surgically excised and treated with rad/chemo you will be fine. I hope they are taking biopsys of all your bumps since this CIS (carcinoma in situ) could be secondary to another site.
Not necessarily. Go to the doc that you have the next appointment with and make him tell you what you want to know. Don't be afraid to ask fquestions, and don't leave the office unless you get the answers you want and most importantly, make sure you understand them and the course of treatment that you will need to undergo.
If you have the diagnosis above, then you do have a fairly serious problem. The staging takes time, so don't worry that. I don't think you should change doctors. It sounds like he is giving you appropriate threatment by referring you to a specialist, and think maybe he is trying not to scare you by not giving you too much info. I think he is letting the specialist tell you what is going on and what needs to happen. At this stage it doesn't sound life threatening, but you are going to have to have more treatment , and probably surgery. You should have a complete workup as part of your treatment, so that should address your other physical problems.
I suspect it's not critical yet if they aren't giving you the OMG get right in here treatment.
One thing you can do, on your own, is eat foods and supplements that boost your immune system. I would suspect you're like most people these days and don't get enough essential fatty acids. Take a look at this webpage:
http://www.benbest.com/health/essfat.htm...
This tells you why you want more of the essential fatty acids. They really help our immune systems. Just looking at the contents in this article will give you some hope that you can do something about it.
Then take a look at this site:

This talks about the foods that have the fatty acids in them. Also look at their page on foods that support the immune system. You need to eat more of these to have a really healthy immune system to help you with whatever you are facing right now:

Good luck.
